Cardboard study carrels have been used for years to give school students privacy and reduce distractions during testing. In fact, almost all
state Departments of Education suggest them.
The state of Texas DOE recommends a cardboard carrel be placed around each workstation to prevent students from seeing one another’s
monitor. The Colorado DOE says "Make available a “private” or isolated area, such as a study carrel, for individual seatwork, testing, or
